Putin puts Russia’s nuclear deterrent forces on alert
Putin has ordered the defence minister and the chief of the military to put nuclear deterrent forces in a ‘special regime of combat duty’.

President Vladimir Putin has ordered Russian nuclear deterrent forces put on high alert in a dramatic escalation of tensions with the West over Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.

Putin said on Sunday that leading NATO powers had made “aggressive statements” while imposing hard-hitting financial sanctions against Russia and himself.

Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg on Friday announced that the alliance was deploying thousands of combat-ready troops to Ukraine’s neighbours, as well as continuing to send weapons to Ukraine including air defences after Russia’s attack.

Putin invaded a country. That is not a statement, that is an invasion of a country. You cannot get more aggressive than that.

Sorry his feelings are hurt by us telling him not to do that, but maybe if he did not do that his feelings would not need to be hurt.

NATO seeks to load Russia's neighbors with weapons- and openly says so. NATO is an aggressive and expansionist gang of slave consumers for the arms industries. Anybody thinking that NATO is acting out of humanitarian concerns is deliberately turning a blind eye to its appalling record of aggression and human rights violations. It's inarguable.

However, this particular invasion is as a result of NATO's aggression, not Russia's aggression. NATO could have turned down the heat- but that's not what it's about , is it.
