Ukraine as an independent country has a right to do what they think is best for them. NATO is an option they had. They did not qualify to join NATOm until they made a few improvements, particularly corruption. However, NATO has not stepped foot into Russian territory. Russia has already taken over Ukraine's neighbors. They are sewing discord with other countries. It is not Ukraine at all. Russia/Putin is attacking Ukraine which has done nothing to Russia.

FYI: do some research, because the shennanigans regarding Donbas, NATO and post-Soviet Russia started LONG before Obama, Trump and Biden came on the scene. As you said, Putin is no angel...he's had a hard on for returning to the old USSR since he seized power. That would be the standard incident. But if this turns to cyber attacks on those aligned with the West, I believe that qualifies.

Putin is ready to retaliate for the sanctions. It remains to be seen how.

This 40 mile long convoy is being allowed to proceed unchecked. We all knew that Ukraine would eventually fall without help.
