41 killed in Afghan blast caused by vehicle bombs

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan – A cluster of vehicle bombs detonated simultaneously Tuesday near a foreign-owned company that plans to build a road through an insurgent-held area. At least 41 people were killed, all civilians, officials said.

The deaths bring to 41 the number of U.S. troops killed in Afghanistan this month, the second deadliest month in the country since the 2001 U.S. invasion. Last month a record 44 U.S. troops died.

This year has been the deadliest of the war for U.S. troops. Including the latest deaths, at least 172 American forces have died in the Afghan war this year, according to an Associated Press count.

Because your PREVIOUS assertion was that the media doesn't touch these stories now, and I see this is being covered on both CNN & MSNBC.

i never said that...i said they do not report them as much and the stories are around for about a day....watch, this story will be very short lived despite the incredible facts below

The MSM ALWAYS turns a blind eye to casualties .. did so in Iraq until alternative media forced them to talk about casulaties .. and, without a doubt MSM is giving the US casualties AND civilian casualties in Afghanistan slight coverage today.

If the true story of Afghanistan is to be told, alternative media will have to tell that story.

Surely the failure of the Fourth Estate does not come as a surprise to you my brother.
 
as i predicted onceler.....nothing about this in the msm today.....just as i said...about one day....

no "deadliest month", no "deadliest year" since afghan started....we were treated to those very headlines under bush.....now its obama....basically silent...

a tragic display of partisanship politics by the media

I would have predicted the same thing.

In the other thread, I said that stories like this never went on for days; unless their was something to feed the story, like the investigation of Haditha.

not hack and not desperate....we both agree, just not on the reasons....and under bush i am positive that such stories stayed up on the internet at least for days....especially Yahoo!....there is nothing hackish or desperate about that onceler....if you're going to call opinions and memories hackish, then i suggest you never state yours
