Russian sailors evacuate warship in the Black Sea after Ukraine attack;

I believe it's the same one that was told: "Russian ship ... Go Fuck Yourself". :)

It is. I guess it got fucked. LOL

On 24 February 2022, the first day of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Snake Island, a Ukrainian island in the Black Sea also known as Zmiinyi Island, was attacked by the Russian Navy. Russian cruiser Moskva hailed the island's garrison over the radio and demanded its surrender, and was told "Russian warship, go fuck yourself" (Russian: 'Русский военный корабль, иди на хуй', tr. Russky voyenny korabl, idi na khuy). After this, all contact was lost with Snake Island, and the thirteen-member Ukrainian garrison was captured.

Russia's 'broken arrow': Fears that nuclear missiles sank with Putin's flagship Moskva amid claims that hundreds of the 510 crew have drowned after being 'hit by Ukrainian missile'

Moskva, the flagship of Russia's Black Sea fleet, has been confirmed to have sunk near port of Sevastopol

Experts and analysts are now warning that the warship may have been carrying two nuclear warheads

They are calling for an urgent probe into 'broken arrow' incident - military slang for an accident with nukes

Meanwhile questions remain over the fate of Moskva's 510-strong crew, most of whom are unaccounted for

Any idea how fast it sank? If fast, then uninjured sailors might have been trapped. If slow, the only the already dead and those trapped in damaged compartments would have been lost.

Agreed on the nukes. Any idea where it went down? The deepest part of the Black Sea is about 7500'.

It was being towed back to port when it sank near Sevastopol.

Could be relatively shallow water....recovery operations would present a sweet, fat target for Ukrainian drones. LOL

If it was damaged by missiles or sabotage, they may have sunk it purposefully to hide the evidence.

Fog of war. Who knows.

Agreed, but unless they had time to remove all the nuke, and I doubt they did, then they still have a problem.

Who recovers stuff at the bottom of the sea now? Nuke?

The Moskva, undoubtedly, carried nukes for their missiles. Removing them would take a dock or extensive ship-to-ship transfer.

The Russians would want those back if for no other reason that the Ukrainians acquire them.

I wonder who gets to them first ;)

Possibly, but the USS Stark was hit by two Exocets. Complacency is a killer.

So far the Russian Army, and possibly Navy, have performed poorly and displays low morale.
It’s has made them look incompetent. I’m just shocked, why would Putie let Russia’s reputation be tarnished. I’m scratching my head over all of this.

A valid example, but that was 35 years ago and she didn't sink. And it was a surprise attack. The USS Stark was not in 'combat mode' until seconds before the missiles struck.

The low morale and possible Russian family ties to Ukraine would support the sabotage theory.

Because Putin and his Oligarchs are criminals robbing the Russian people blind. Money that should have gone to the military is in banks around the world.
