Because most people want to adopt babies that they can pass off as their own, most kids in foster care weren't placed there as infants they were placed there because their parents lost parental rights.

So since Roe, the number of kids in the foster care system has declined or remained stagnant.

So while the US went from 200M people in 1970 to 330M people today, the number of kids in the foster care system went from 500,000 down to about 400,000.

Roe and Casey were both decided after the court ruled that married couples have a right to privacy, and that right was what led 8 of the 9 justices to rule that abortion was constitutionally protected.

Alito tossed that ruling on Roe, saying that the right to privacy doesn't exist because of historical context...that means the decision Roe and Casey were based on, Griswold v. Connecticut, is also overruled.

So not only did the number of kids in foster care decline since the 1970's, after Roe, but the share of kids in foster care as a percentage of the population HAS ALSO DECLINED.
