I think there was a net gain in domestic jobs during the bush presidency. We created many low paying service sector jobs such as fry cooks and sales associates.

I guess the rebutlikens were right, that minimum wage increase drove us into this recession

Yes, that is what COLA stands for.... Cost Of Living Adjustment, which is based on inflation.

As for spending, while I agree the Government needed to do something to stimulate the economy, reckless spending is not the way to go. Not saying this particular issue is reckless, but overall it is right now. How can you tell one group that because we had deflation last year that they do not get a COLA, while in the next breath telling others they do?

I do think that jobs created that build or repair US infrastructure are a good investment.
