I wish the immediate focus wasn't always solely on guns. I'm all for good gun control, but that's really not it w/ these situations.
We're seeing these so regularly now. Something is wrong - it's like a rot in our society. We're infected w/ something and not able (to this point) to diagnosis it.
It's time to really get to the heart of what is causing this. I refuse to believe that this is just how it's gonna be now. We have to fix this, and we have to have an urgency about fixing this.

There clearly was a turning point in America not too long ago when violence (in this case gun violence) became mainstream, common, merely another headline...nothing to see here move along. I'm sure some have pin pointed that period of time but I reckon it was when the Religious Right came along and started dividing people based on their faith and political party. It became Us vs Them in absolutely everything. When you make the other side your enemy for not being like you, believing what you believe or voting how you vote...then making them targets for hate, abuse and even murder becomes a whole lot easier.
America needs to get its house in order because we are definitely on a slippery slide into a much worse future.
