Alcohol, Prohibition, and the Revenuers

I had forgotten about that cliche', thanks it is a good one and so was the article!

Weed is easy to grow and consume and sell. Alcohol, with the exception of moonshine, is not. Large distilleries or breweries are needed and thus easier to organize and tax. Weed however can be grown in a basement for yourself. IF legalized more than likely more people would do this than buy it so there isn't much to be gained for taxing it. I'm all for legalizing it but it's just not practical to tax.

I know where at least 3 stills are located right now. I am forever going to be in the minority on this board and perhaps elsewhere but I will never be for legalizing mind-altering drugs......including marijuana.
Thanks from all the cancer patients of the world.

it's very likely to draw big taxes, how many cigarette smokers grow thier own tabacco?
Unless you've done it, it's not as easy to grow right
If the tobacco farmers would plant it in between their rows of tobacco it would replenish the soil that tobacco strips! It is an amazing plant! The fibers can then be used for other items like clothing!

the whiskey rebellion. to enforce whiskey tax george washington gathered more troops thn for any revoloutionary war battle to use against his own people.

let freedom ring :usflag:

money is more important than freedom, even to our founding fathers.

libertarians can stick this in their pipe and smoke on it for a while.

The Whiskey Rebellion is still a big deal here in da 'burgh. :)
