actually.....yurt.....will do :)

In the summer of 1978 I lived with some hippy friends in a tipis for almost an entire summer over in eastern WA. I decided I liked hanging with my cowboy friends in the winter better...log homes with bathrooms ya know.

So you live in a yurt? Or you just dream about it?

only camping on the oregon coast in them....beverly beach and fort stevens....best yurts, some of the best camping

Why the best camping?

i'll admit to bias for the west coast....

beverly beach: about 200 feet seperates you from the beach....right next to 101, but, the way the yurt loop is set up (below the highway, nestled below the hill and amongst the trees) you don't hear the highway and you cross under the highway to get to the beach....

fort stevens: next to astoria, and about 1 mile from the campground you can drive onto the beach and have fires....nothing like it...but you need 4 wheel drive, i laugh at all the idiots with cars who get stuck

I have not explored the Oregon coast...sigh. I have a brother who lives in Brookings and still I have not been! I know and love the CA coast, especially the northern coast...Have even managed to see a bit of the WA coast.

And just a few short weeks ago you and I both hiked out to the Northern Coast! That was a beautiful day!

oregon coast is amazing, much of it like nothern california (north of eureka)....but for me, a bit more wild, mysterious and majestic....as i live on the central coast of california, i of course love cali coast as well, the weather certainly beats oregon coast weather....

wa coast, love it as well....if you get the chance, explore whidbey island...though i have always wanted to go, the northern washington coast is absolutely amazing according to my best friend up there....

Loyal, I have told everyone what an awesome hike that was...you made my day by taking me there! Really, after days of driving to walk out around that bend in the trail and have it open up to that magnificent vista was awe inspiring!
