Taylor Swift and Beyonce both got more press and admiration for their awards than they would have otherwise been given.
West got a dose of reality, and unlike the loudmouth buffoon in Congress, has profusely apologized many times .. went on Leno and said "It was dumb" and that he needs time away from the spotlight.

Wow even Obama supposedly called Kanye a jackass. I know the old addage is no plubicity (sp) is bad plubicity but in this case Kanye may prove the exception.
