bachus's bill includes no public option

So after democrats cave in to republican demands and offer a watered down weak ass no serious reform bill that was paid for with THREE MILLION DOLLARS to Baucus in donations .. still NO REPUBLICANS WILL SUPPORT IT.

I did say before this debate began that there would be no public option.

Is there anything less useless than a democrat?

yes... a Republican

The questions I have yet to see an answer to:

1. Does it decouple insurance from the employer?
2. Does it allow you to seek insurance across state lines seeking the best coverage for your circumstance?
3. Does the exchange impose limits on the carriers that will limit coverage competition as well as cost competition?

If it doesn't remove the State Enforced Monopolies then there is no cost reform.

Well... Obama has identified $500 billion in savings within Medicare due to waste and inefficiencies, so at least he can attack that regardless of what version of the health care bill comes to his desk.

I mean... surely the politicians will clean that up ... right? Funny that they haven't even started on this yet...

Note: before anyone goes off on a rant... I am mocking BOTH parties for their failure to initiate this.

So funny I just cut off a testicle.

Actually, when you read his question, it was slightly tricky... thus I had to change it.

Had he said more useless, then my original answer would have been funny. But he said less useless... which would encompass just about everyone other than socialists.

1. Not sure what you mean, but it does not include health insurance benefits as taxable income.

2. I don't believe so. I think it provides for states to set up insurance exchanges along the lines of the Massachsuetts model.

3. Don't know.

Here's a pdf of the "Chairman's Mark" (first draft) of the bill. The "Chairman's Mark" is written in plain English, it is not the actual bill text, and compares what is provided for in the bill with current law:

The Massachsuetts model failed and so did the Hawaii model.

you're a fool if you think only republicans did not support the public option....but then again....no surprise coming from you

wow

Name the republicans who support it.

The majority of the American people suport it.

75% of American doctors across the spectrum support it.

Name the republicans who support it .. even among the "Gang of Six" who helped craft it?

Or you can just keep calling me names if that makes you feel better.

He didn't say republicans support it, he said not only republicans were against it.

1. I mean is your insurance still provided by your employer as the payer? If it is this bill sucks too.
2. Then there is no real cost saving benefit to the end user.
3. And that sucks. We need more information.
