And now there is a global famine developing as well, and expensive energy is just kicking our asses, predictably.

What people dont understand is that once you let your manufacturing base go it would even if you did everything right which America cant manage now but even if you did it would take decades to rebuild it.

We have no understanding of how hard it is to build, because we dont build, all we do is tear down.

A specific example, Whirlpool is still in business.

Tariffs make the Chinese goods as expensive as the American goods.

So what did you want to teach me about tariffs?

Given the bureaucratic state which has come under the control of the "Save the Planet!" zealots and the courts which make building anything expensive and difficult it is not possible to build back American manufacturing.

Positive thinking is not going to change that.
