Well then we shouldn't complain about results like this in our schools.

To the point about health care we also see how well the free market works in economics and business as the U.S. is the world leader.

Regardless, I am glad there are people out there like the KIPP schools for example that are willing to battle the status quo and are actually doing something about helping low income children succeed in school.

the state of american education is sad....it is disingenuous though to claim this is a red states issue....it is not....i respect ib1, but this thread is a weak attempt to attack his political rivals

1. do we even know the political affiliation of the parents of these students

2. why only post about a red state, why not talk about the fact that this is due, not to political philosophy, but to economic circumstances...
