Ignorant Red State High Schoolers (this is depressing)

don't you claim to be independent or something.....yet all you do is criticize "righties" 99% of the time and maybe criticize the "left" 1% of the time.....you need 3 usernames to get your point across (or should we say, your rep points across).....

the state of american education is sad....it is disingenuous though to claim this is a red states issue....it is not....i respect ib1, but this thread is a weak attempt to attack his political rivals

1. do we even know the political affiliation of the parents of these students

2. why only post about a red state, why not talk about the fact that this is due, not to political philosophy, but to economic circumstances...

The problem is not just red states. This is not a partisan issue. Although red states are a problem and judging from 9.12 types not too educated.

I do not claim to be "an independent" becuse that would group me with a lot of BillO fans and such. shudder at the tought.
I am just me and independent, not an independent.

agreed....ib1 hacked it up a bit with this thread....

and again, i really don't think looking at this issue as a red or blue state or a state by state manner is going to help....this is an economics issue, it is the problem with how our public schools are currently run

personally, i think the british have a decent system, then again, one could argue that it is very class biased....our problem, IMO, has some to do with compulsion....school should be a privilege, not something you're forced to do

No but I support the opening post and the poster for posting it.
Truth needs to be known, even if not flattering.

But then I suppose you are one who would like to go around all day with her slip showing rather than have someone tell you?

Do right wingnut women wear dresses? Or just jeans , flannel shirts and hiking boots?

so I take you have never met any conservative women..they'd probably be too much of a woman for you to handle anyway..

so you're not a democrat, a republican, green party, whirled peas party or independent....you're just you....independently you :pke:

ah that brings back memories of the day I met my wife....it was at an estate auction across the street from my dorm at college......we were both looking for cheap furniture........I like women in jeans, flannel shirts and hiking boots......

It is not an economic issue it is an issue of a poor education system that has stagnated for 30 years or more. In the 30's and such it was an adequate system considering most were going to assembly line jobs and such. but it is waay behind the rest of of the industrialized world now.
And parents deserve a lot of blame as well. Schools have become baby sitters for working parents.
both parents often feel they need to work to support a lifestyle they do not really need.
I can't figure out why they have children then.
A child is a BIG obligation not just like a pet.

I begin to understand righties a bit more now.
Disturbing though that understanding may be.
