What Does AOC Have That Boebert Does Not?

I'm not sure AOC is crazy smart. When explaining why unemployment was so low she said it was because many people were working 2-3 jobs--that from an economics major.

Think now: if one person is working 3 jobs, the employment tally does NOT list that one person...it just registers those 3 businesses have employees, which is part of the unemployment numbers (lower, that is).

Remember the town hall meeting where a woman told the Shrub that she worked 3 jobs to make ends meet?

Now "crazy" smart may be a bit of an exaggeration, but light years smarter than Bobbert or Green sure as hell isn't.

thats actually true the way that stat is calculated thats why the employer survey is far more accurate.

Unemployment rate is not based on how many employees a business has.

"The unemployment rate is the proportion of the labor force that is not currently employed but could be. There are six different ways the unemployment rate is calculated by the Bureau of Labor Statistics using different criteria.

She's not...unless compared to Boebert or MTG, then she's a stable genius.

From your link:

What Is the Unemployment Rate?
The unemployment rate is the percentage of the labor force without a job. It is a lagging indicator, meaning that it generally rises or falls in the wake of changing economic conditions, rather than anticipating them. When the economy is in poor shape and jobs are scarce, the unemployment rate can be expected to rise. When the economy grows at a healthy rate and jobs are relatively plentiful, it can be expected to fall.

Which begs the question....if only 1 in 10 people is working 3 jobs instead of 3 different people, is not the stat inaccurately reflecting the employment/unemployment rate? Could you accurately say 70% unemployment when it's actually 90%?

This is why when the economic depts. of broadcast and print media started stating that they could comfortably include people who have "given up" seeking jobs, I want to scream BS from the highest mountain. NO ONE mentions that the number of people who's unemployment benefits exhausted is NOT part to the equation that unemployment is down because less people are on the dole.

Maybe. Like many people they respond in partisan cliches.

She's not "stupid" though. I've seen clips of her speaking. She makes sense. Also, I've seen her in Congressional inquiries - she's effective, in my opinion, so you can't really compare her to a MTG.

I'm not real clear on your example. Out of 10 people how many are working?
