Tax cheat Rangel keeps seat on ways and means.

WASHINGTON (AP) - House Republicans have failed for a third time to oust Rep. Charles Rangel as chairman of the tax-writing Ways and Means Committee.

Despite the expected defeat Wednesday, the GOP did keep the spotlight on the New York Democrat's ethical problems, although the matter will be turned over to the House ethics committee for a long-term investigation. The House voted 246-153 to refer the resolution to remove him to that panel in a partisan vote that had no meaning except to revisit Rangel's problems.

The Harlem congressman is faced with allegations of financial improprieties, including failure to pay taxes on investment income and neglecting to report assets and income on his congressional financial disclosure forms.

Well, until the investigation concludes guilty or innocent, the neocon GOP will just have to sit and stew.
 
We already know the outcome of this.

Nothing will be done about it, they will deny it ever happened, and that it was a vast right wing conspiracy to discredit the black man.

What a whopper that line was....
 
to many libs credit on this board, they have said rangel should resign if found guilty....

however, their silence is telling.....for we all know if this was a repub they would be talking about this everyday and how corrupt and evil the repubs are

If I recall the you and the dopes you refer to all knew that the GOP was going to win in 2008. Didn't work out for ya, did it chuckles?

What he said was true. It will be blamed on race. Rangel is fraudster but the democrat party loves criminals so he'll stay in power

Let me clue you in, since you were a baby senators and congressmen have been functioning in office while under investigation. Hell, former New York senator Alphonse Damato was ELECTED to office while under investigation by Senate Ethics Committee.

But you don't have me or anyone else yelling about favoritism or racial bias on his behalf, do you?

See, ignorant toots like you are all to quick to rub your hands with glee with just the vague possiblity of getting the goods on any black person in a position of power....so you instantly concoct all types of supposition and conjecture while swimming in ignorance on the very subject.

Like I said, if Rangel is found guilty....dump 'em. If not, then he's free to do his job, much to your frustration. No racial angle about it....except in the mind of those who hide their pointy hoods under their chairs as they type.
