PITTSBURGH/LATROBE, Pa., Nov 5 (Reuters) - Former President Barack Obama warned about divisions fueling a "dangerous climate" in U.S. politics as he stumped for Democratic candidates on Saturday three days ahead of midterm elections that will determine control of Congress.

Speaking to supporters in downtown Pittsburgh, Obama said the politically motivated attack on Democratic House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi's husband, Paul, was a product of hateful rhetoric.

Obama stumps for Fetterman in Pennsylvania, takes aim at election deniers

Former president Barack Obama pitched the candidacy of Democratic Senate candidate John Fetterman during a rally Saturday in Pittsburgh, in which he also took aim at former president Donald Trump and other election deniers. The appearance was the first of two by Obama in a state with a marquee Senate race. Later Saturday, Obama and President Biden will join Pennsylvania Democrats at a rally in Philadelphia. Fetterman’s opponent, Republican Mehmet Oz, the celebrity physician, is getting help as well, with former president Donald Trump coming for a rally Saturday evening.

"This habit we have of demonizing political opponents, of saying crazy stuff, it creates a dangerous climate," Obama said, without referencing Republicans directly. "You've got politicians who work not to bring people together but to stir up division and to make us angry and afraid of one another just for their own advantage."

Fuck Obama. Nobody cares what that pussy has to say anyway.

Pretty out of touch comment. Sure, conservatives don't - but he is the most respected and beloved figure in the Dem party by a mile.

I'm not even a Dem, but I love hearing him back on the stump. One of the most powerful speakers we have had in modern times.

so 2012.....remember when he doubled the national debt?.......

It's really refreshing hearing a guy like that. He's a conservative through & through - but he's one of the few rational righties left.

I agree.....remember when he signed on to the law suit pointing out that the 2020 election violated the US constitution.....its a pity you didn't tell us how much you liked him then.....

If my liking a politician meant that I liked every single thing that they did, I wouldn't like any of 'em.

I disagree w/ Crenshaw on most of his positions and actions in Congress. But I respect integrity, and principle. Something that's extremely rare these days.
