Anti intellectualism...

Have you noticed how irrelevent you've become?

All you have to offer is dildo's, sex with men, and all manner of thoughless shit one would expect from a teenager.

Are you a teenager?

If that's your schtick, so be it .. but please go play with someone else. I don't come eher to play with teenagers who can't hold civil conversations.

Obvioulsy you have no self-respect, no dignity, no self-esteem.

He is certifiable in my opinion.

This crappy economy is based MOSTLY on banks making bad loans, and buying up debt from other banks that had nothing backing it. Really blaming any politician for this economy is like blaming the little silver dog on the front of the Mack Truck for the accident.

What are you smoking? Knowledge that the government would bail them is WHY they knew they such stupidity would pay off.

All politicians who did nothing to stop this train wreck are to blame.

Maybe you had too much luck then and your mind's elsewhere. :clink:

Here's the Laffer Curve:

Show me where deficits are graphed.

He just split it down the middle for no reason. The real position of revenue maximization is something that's not easy to determine, and it's just as likely to be 63.4567% as 50%.

Okay, let's just cut all the BS.

During the last 8 years you heard the squawk of "intellectual elitism" from Karl Rove and all his loyal parrots/pundits.....the phrase was used as an insult and bad mark against all those who dared to criticize the Shrub's actions and the PNAC agenda.

What would be funny if it weren't so true is that Karl Rove struggled long and hard to become part of the intellectually elite bastions of education so he could be tapped to serve in upper echelons of the Republican Party and eventually the White House. In fact, the very pundits and "experts" that all the neocon parrots of the unwashed masses kowtow to are either part of the "intellecutally elite" or continually use those members to validate any and all of their assertions. The self contradictions are staggering....but then again neocons are never known for logic.

Now, let's be clear....EVERYONE on this board is educated to a degree....we have to be in order to understand the nuance and nomenclature of the American language. And we were all educated by an elite part of our society....TEACHERS. And then we go on to gather information by another elite group...AUTHORS! We ALL try to increase our intellect with knowledge. So let's all stop and think before we start to carry on about "elitist" and "intellectualism".....know HOW to apply the terms and what they really mean, folks.

That being said, kudos to Socrtease, Zoom, and Mott for pretty much putting all this stuff into perspective.

Well, I guess that lets me out.
But it is verging on a pleasurable experience to find only one of the resident idiots involving himself in this discussion. (Well, two if you include SM the redneck) Shouldn't have said that really. 'Redneck' is a compliment in some parts!!
Good stuff, Zoom et al.

But obama is still in iraq and afghanistan. He must be a neocon parrot as well.

He split it down the middle because that is EXACTLY how it will break down. It will most certainly NOT be at 63.4567%. It will be right at 50%. Because at that point both lowering and raising the marginal rates will cause a decrease in revenue.

That said, as you stated FINDING that middle point is hard to do. Especially in a tax system like ours where the idiots in DC are ever adding to the tax code new loopholes/deductions/regulations.

Are we really a nation that wants to engage in so much anti intellectualism?

Seriously, an attack on people who have been educated is an attack on thousands of years of study and hard work at learning.

Many things come from being educated.

This does not deminish the fact that new novel and important discoveries can come from those who are not intellectual, but both are valuable. Were our founding fathers not intellectuals?

Do we want to discount all of science because it came almost exculsivly from educated people? Do we distrust a discovery because it came from an intellectual?

Is this just a way of lying to the masses, denying a scientific discovery merely because it came from an intellectual? Evolution is a great example...

In related news, I'm glad our venerated mainstream media is making the case against smart and articulate people. The associated press asks a great question, which is on everyone's mind: Is Obama too articulate? Fucking A man. This is america! We make fun of eggheads, and smart well-spoken elitists.

ASSOCIATED PRESS

Put aside for a moment the question of whether government is actually intruding into people's lives more than before.

The point is that many people feel like it is — in part because Obama doesn't stop talking about his goals. If President George W. Bush got slapped around for being inarticulate, is Obama obnoxiously articulate?

He's in Iraq following up and making improvements on the agreements and policies of the previous administration.....he's in Afghanistan trying to figure out how to fix the criminally neglectful and failed policies and actions of the previous administration. Last time I checked, jokers like you claimed everything done in the last 8 years in those regions was perfect. So if you've got a problem, don't go squawking to Obama, because he's not parroting the BS spewed by Cheney, Rove, Rumsfeld, the Shrub or (least of all) jokers like you.

Oh, and you'd better not think too hard on this, least your head explodes....because according to neocon parrots Obama is wrong no matter what he does....yet if he honors basic agreements in Iraq (like withdrawal schedule) made by the Shrub & company....isn't he doing what you want? You can't have it both ways.
