President Obama has already hit the links as much as President Bush did in over two years. * AP

President Barack Obama has only been in office for just over nine months, but he's already hit the links as much as President Bush did in over two years.

CBS' Mark Knoller — an unofficial documentarian and statistician of all things White House-related — wrote on his Twitter feed that, "Today - Obama ties Pres. Bush in the number of rounds of golf played in office: 24.

Took Bush 2 yrs & 10 months."

if true, i wonder what the left will say...

This lefty says what's your point? How long would it take Obama to tie bush in the number of miles they biked? cut brush?

I think the obvious explanation is that Obama likes golf more than bush does.

well why not...he has the commies in his administration running things..so he has all the free time in the world..

there has been on hell of a serious joke played on us here, I hope the people wake up before it's too late..

Does Obama tie bush in days in Chicago/Crawford? Certainly it's total days off that count, not only on the golf course or at a bowling alley. Did he research that, or was he looking onlly for a cute sound bite? That's what this Lefty says, you're next.

Can't blame him... golf is awesome.

I used to think that... but living in CO, there are too many fun things to do outside. I think I played two rounds last year. Before I moved here I would play about 20 per year. Hiking, rafting, biking, climbing, skiing etc... what is a poor soul to do? Too many choices. :)

I imagine your point is the left's nonstop bullshit about 'vacation' days when Bush was in office??? that somehow Bush was 'on vacation' when he wasn't at the White House, but when Obama is gone... he is 'working'... because suddenly technology allows a President to work outside of the White House.

As for Obama's golfing.... good for him... I want our President to have something that he does as a stress reliever.

exactly.....media double standard and many liberals double standard

How so? Are brush cutting or bike riding more presidential, and do they not take time, especially 2000 miles away?

I saw post above and I also saw the Fox Morning Show where they presented the same garbage. The conclusion they, and you, are trying to leave is that Obama has taken more time off than bush, which is crap and you know it. The only conclusion anybody with a brain can honestly make is that Obama enjoys golf more than bush. Show me where Obama has taken more vacation days than bush in the same amount of time, the double standard is yours if you can't.

Most puzzling after watching the Fox show is that they consider their viewers so dense as to not question, yet their viewers don't get angry. Did you ask yourself is it simply that Obama plays more golf or has he spent more time on vacation than bush?
Now show me anywhere, anytime, people disdained golf while bush was president.

oh don't worry we always see the double standards of liberals..

they bitched when Bush golfed because there were wars going on, but now it's just all ducky that the Hugo Obama golfs cause he has stress of dealing with wars and needs to let off some steam....

thanks for proving my point....

bush was ridiculed for playing golf instead of working, then he said he gave it up and was ridiculed for that....he was ridiculed for alleged vacations when in fact he was still working....its double standard, just be honest and admit its not garbage, be unbiased for once

Now you would like to leave the impression that golf is the issue. Fox and their obedient sheep, by design, would like to leave people with the false impression that Obama in 9 months has taken more time off than bush.

Maybe you missed the point, if there were complaints about bush's time, it was not about golf but the amount of time off. Do you have any figures about Obama's trips to Chicago as compared to bush and Crawford?

Bush stopped playing golf when the war started so that's really not that surprising.

Thanks, you are a gentleman and a scholar. Fox failed to note that in their "informational" pieces yesterday, rather trying to leave the impression some got about excessive Obama time off.

it's not important now. Obama can take off as much time as he wants, he's just so great and perfect. He should be president of golf as well.

Bush refused to play golf while troops were on the ground in Iraq. A kind of self imposed penance...!

Do you know how much gets done on a golf corse... I imagine in politics its even more than in my business, but lots gets done. Relationships are forged spending 4 hours in a golf cart working on a meaningless activity.
