Foundation of Conservatism

You just proved one my accusations, Yurtle old thing. You're not here to debate, and you're not concerned about what I was discussing with Dixie per se, you just jumped in because you've got an axe to grind with me...because you cannot logically or factually best me in a debate when you take some neocon position.

you did EXACTLY like I expected and stated in the last post. Just Plain Politics! - View Single Post - Foundation of Conservatism And you're either too stupid or too stubborn to acknowledge that. No matter, I leave this for all to see. And I toss your sorry ass back into the dustbin. But feel free to follow me around throwing rocks in frustration.

once again, when asked to prove your assertions, you run away like a coward....you said i lied, made stuff up, i asked you to prove it....you of course can't, so you run away...

i ask you to simply debate, and you can't, you solely insulted...

(yawn)

I don't know about that but it's certainly bad politics. Divide and conquer is a strategy your supposed to use against your opponents, not yourselves.

True, but discussion is about principle VS pragmatics. The question conservatives are asking amongst ourselves is this idea of purging the party of moderates who are nothing more than liberal light.

What a splendid idea! Get rid of everyone who doesn't think like you. Great. Dont look for more people, look for less. Keep doing it til you have no opposition to good sense left in the country.
This sort of logic has got to be a winner!!! LOL

The race card again; my what a surprise.

Sorry bunky, but neither you or that other Confederate flag waving/defending cretin (If spewing the same BS that can be found on Stormfront or David Duke sites is not the sign of a sheet wearer, than what is?)
can dodge the FACT that you can't logically or factually refute what I wrote regarding his moronic diatribe about conservatism.

A political party is supposed to be founded on certain principled ideas...sorry that you are having such a difficult time wrapping that fatuous head of yours around that not very unique fact.

You are absolutely correct. However, unless you are on the committee for drawing up the party manifesto (or whatever serves the same purpose in the US) you are a follower, not a leader and as such the decision as to who should be a member is not for you to make. But you carry on. Your voice is clearly the one that will make most people happy (even though most people are democrats). I, naturally, will not be spending any time at all wrapping my fatuous head around anything that you propose.

Once again, you prove that your screen name is well deserved.

lmao....you only prove what a pussy you are....asshat says you love aids, yet he is not on ignore....

others challenge your claims, you get pissy and then those you can't win a single argument with, get put on ignore....

That's what's so nice about the US Low, we the people get to have say at the ballot box. We even get to say that this particular person does not represent the ideals of conservatism...which yes, Low, are spelled out in political party platforms~~~dig.

BTW I did not invite your original comment asshole; you as per usual stuck your pointy lil' head in and then act as though you couldn't care less...that's fine, then butt TFO :)

The only thing nice about the right wing of the Useless States of America is that you are a lo-o-o-o-ong way from nice people.
Having just watched a programme about a yank 'milla-dairy' family posted to Lakenheath in East Anglia all I can say is, yup. You really are ALL the stupid same.
Quote, "We feel uncomfortable outside the base because no one has guns!!!@ My sainted freakin aunt. Stupid doesn't even come close.

With all due respect sir my (poor) memory says you are a Brit living in Hong Kong. Thus you are judging who is 'kinder' between 'right' and 'left' wing folk?

You must be a big fan of political rhetoric then. And this is no disrepect to yourself but no wonder it works.

I am a fan of all literary devices but fail in my use of them. However this post of yours has flown several inches above my head.
The programme I was referring to was made in 2004 and was pretty evenly balanced showing, as it did, a cheer leading team travelling to the most embarrassing seaside report in England and possibly the world, Blackpool. The family whose story was told was called Yakkel, pronounced Yay-kel (!). The village adjacent to the base was a very typical English village with a typical array of shops, stalls and pubs staffed to a man (or woman) with nice, ordinary English village people. The Yakkels were shit scared! because no guns AND they believed there were terrorists hiding in every cabbage on every market stall.
The population of the base were warned that Brits tended not to accept overt patriotism and did not take kindly to Americans chewing gum. Every day... Every bloody day, at 5pm the base played your national anthem! Every bloody day! The villagers displayed two vertical digits and sometimes one in the direction of the base.
Your military families, with their hugs and holier than thou attitudes, refused to let an English girl play with their kids because she would not sing a foreign national anthem and was not what, I think you call, a southern baptist. Barking bloody mad, the lot of em. Oh, and why are they in our country? To freakin protect us!!!! Protect us????? They man an enormous killing machine marking the East of England a massive target!
Well the loony right wing of your political spectrum thinks the sun, moon and stars shine out of the god-fearing arses of these 'milli-dairy folks'! Folks??? Folks?? who the hell says that in 2009?. Sanity is a very rare commodity on your side of the ocean.

The national anthem is played twice a day on every military base in the world.

It happens when they raise the flag in the morning and when they lower it in the evening. Every person outside stops, faces the flag and pays respects to what it stands for. If they are in uniform they salute, if they are not in uniform they put one hand over their heart.

I am not going to apologize for it interrupting someone's day. If hearing another country's national anthem coming from their military base is the worst that
happens to them, they are having a pretty good day.

Personally, I think sanity is a pretty rare commodity anywhere in the world. And its over-rated at that.

There is nothing wrong with a national anthem. BUT, when it is a foreign one AND it is IN you bloody face then it shows an ignorance and crassness on behalf of the visitors.
I think it is the 'in your face' bit that we object to. No one is more patriotic than a Brit but we KNOW who we are and see no need to remind ourselves every minute of every day and certainly we see no good in forcing our sounds into the eardrums of our hosts. Americans appear to have absolutely no regard for other peoples. I say 'appear' because I know it not to be universally true. I guess its about respect for foreign cultures and trying not to make ripples. I wonder if Americans will ever, can ever, understand that.
Stomping through other peoples countries with guns at the ready makes precious few friends.

Its not as if we go around blasting our anthem all over. We play it when we raise our flag and when we lower it. And this happens on our military bases. Which are treated as american soil.

I have lived near military bases. Unless you are next door, the anthem being played is not that loud. It seems to me to be a real stretch to find it an issue.

And when the US military has talked of closing the bases, the town wail as if they are dying.

Its funny, they want us there to spend money and hire civilian workers, but get mad because we play our anthem and chew gum. I guess that want us to just hand them cash and then either pretend we are british or stay hidden.

No. We want you to go home. Simple as that. Everywhere you go you pollute. Your base at Burtonwood in the north, at Lakenheath in the east and all the others up and down what you regard as simply a rather large aircraft carrier and we regard as our home.
We dont want you. We dont want your phoney protection. While you are there we will take your money, why the hell not?
We got rid of you and your bombs from Greenham Common, I felt tremendous pride when, like thousands of others, I visited 'The Women of Greenham Common' and we cheered when you were forced to leave.
This may surprise you, but I really do not know whether our services play our national anthem. I think there is a simple bugle call.
A few miles from me, at this very moment, are stationed numbers of the Chinese Peoples Liberation Army. I have frequently walked past their various barracks and the only sound I have heard was the shouts as they played football and basketball. I have no idea how many of them there are. They respect the city in which they live and when they venture out of their bases they dress in civvies. They are taught the differences between themselves and Hong Kongers.
When Americans arrive here on R&R they behave themselves. they are generally good natured and friendly. Only the tourists are loud.
