He was well within his rights as the robber was armed and threatening the people there with a gun.

You are assuming that to be the case. Aside from that, since the asshole had a firearm out, he was still a threat. Front, back, side, it's all good when there's a lethal threat clear and present.
The threat was neutralized. That's all that matters. No jury would convict him.
Than whats all the fuss about cops shooting blacks in the back about?
Notice the customer coming in at the end? The suspect could have shot anyone coming in. He was still a threat.
And Jacob Blake "could have" killed someone while speeding away in his car!

Yep. The robber and the victims were in a confined space with one exit where anyone could have come in at any time.
There have been cases where customers were killed just because they came in.
So cops can shoot all robbers etc in the back without warning?
