I don't know what the other poster had it mind but here's my 2 cents:
1. The Evangelicals have decided that their faith should be controlling of others' actions even if they don't share that same faith
2. Evangelicals voted en masse to support Trump who helped foment a failed coup against the US government
3. Evangelicals have consistently fought against science education and wished to install religious teachings in the science classes
Is that enough? I would have no problem with Evangelicals and their cults but, sadly, they force their beliefs on others. And with the advent of the "Moral Majority" they took a bigger role in politics and tried to become "of this world".

Evangelicals have fought to get creationism taught on the same footing as evolution ("teach the controversy"). Visit the "Creation Museum" or "Ark Encounter" if you doubt me.

By “taught on the same footing” do you mean in the Public School classroom? Because what parents teach their kids is not the government’s job to regulate no matter how much we wish it were.
There are some zealots who desired to teach Creationism in the public school classroom but fortunately, in most states they were unable to accomplish that. Even in the public school where I teach, with science taught by a devout, Christian Science teacher, the theory of evolution is what is taught. Of course from conservatively raised kids (most of them are you know) always comes something like, “We don’t believe that stuff. God created everything.” I think our science teacher handles it well with something like, “I know most of you were raised being taught that but you have to learn this…”
I had a cousin tell me his kid was told how stupid his parents must be to have taught him about creation. Not a good response, IMO.
I’ve been to both the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter. Great exhibits of what Christians believe I think. And if you read the info in front of the exhibits it is a compare and contrast situation. Nothing wrong with that. People are always saying that we religious folks don’t like our beliefs challenged…well, what’s good for the goose…
