I believe that Jarod is an attorney. That would indicate a higher-than-average salary. It's likely that he lives in an affluent area. It's been my experience that parents with more education and income than the average choose to live where the schools pay better and focus on well-rounded educations, not just shunting kids out the door half-formed, like Toxic TOP's school obviously did. So teachers like the one Jarod mentioned are priceless and will most likely be protected by both parents who desire good education, and administrators who desire to offer the very best to their families and students.
We have a great school board and teachers. The problem with my area is that a lot of the wealthy put their kids in expensive private schools. My neighbor goes to school with Baron Trump. I do not believe in that, unless the kid has special needs that are more likely to be accompanied by the private school.
The middle class kids with conservative parents who are afraid of sending their kids to school with “poor” people usually chose Charter schools. For my kids public school is perfect, a more diverse experience and an excellent education if you push for it.
