I agree that arguing that the cops shouldn't have been there is a very stupid argument. They can't spend ALL of their time at Dunkin Donuts.

Rittenhouse is the only one at fault, he's got nothing to surrender in a suit, and it's just bad fortune tht he wasn't convicted in criminal court.
Karma will find another way to crease his ass, hopefully.

Someone actively participates in a violent riot then attacks someone who defends himself then their family sues for money. If I were on the jury they would lose for sure.

Like the criminal case it has no merit. This time, if it gets thrown out there will be no riots. The Revolution has their man in place.

or, more realistically, had three people not made the decision to assault him, they'd be alive and uninjured. Those three people are ultimately responsible for their situations.

The plaintiffs put a good faith effort to track down Rittenhouse, but Rittenhouse avoided them. The plaintiffs then handed the papers to someone who was in contact with Rittenhouse. That is what the law requires. The law does not have some secret technicality that allows people to avoid lawsuits.

In other words, Rittenhouse was served, and now we move on to the next step. We know he was served, because he was able to send a lawyer to try to get the case dismissed.

As much as I hated being IN the military, I certainly wouldn't ever hate or disparage it.
When it's sent to do the wrong thing, and I know from very real actual experience that such happens, civilian politicians are the ones at fault.

Agreed.

OTOH, like the comment about "democracy is the worst form of government", a civilian controlled military is better than a military junta or dictatorship.
