Ft. Hood shootings - more gun control madness?!

And medical malpractice kills at least 800,000 every year. Clearly doctors and hospitals need to be banned.
Definitely, prayer and chiropractic are the only logical options... maybe (and I say maybe) some acupuncture. However the government currently is attempting to force you to go to those people who are killing you, or at least pay them not to kill you.

I'm willing to bet that they'd kill you even after you did pay them. After all a healthy patient isn't good for return business. And they're good friends with morticians, who have no use for people to be alive.

OH MY GAWD!!!

I just uncovered the huge government conspiracy!

its their conspiratorial double secret probationary method of population control.

And, for token SMY'ism, the soldiers had it coming and deserved it for not be armed. Shootings don't happen where they have guns, folks!

they volunteered to follow government orders. If the government distrusted them enough to make a regulation about not carrying guns, it's their own damned fault. The civilian government is directly responsible for those soldiers being unarmed.

Guns are ment to kill, cars aren't simpleton

That is such a lame argument.

The improper use of anything that results in another persons death should be treated equally. Cars are not 'meant' to kill people, but the people are still dead at the end of the day due to the actions of the OWNER of the car.

Guns are no different. You could argue just as easily that guns are made to prevent assault, death, rape and murder. That guns are meant to be used to hunt for food. That guns are meant to be used for recreation. Guns have many uses. It is up to the OWNER to use them as intended. Guns are NOT made with the intent of people using them to commit murder.

I have tried and tried to make this clear to you gun fraidy cats. One more time.

You are right, guns are made to kill. Yet this tool that is constructed to kill, kills less than a car, a tool that is constructed to carry people from point A to point B. If something NOT intended to kill, kills more people than something that is intended to kill, there is a problem with the something NOT intended to kill. So your argument is actually good for gunowners and guns. You have pointed out that you are less likely to be killed by a gun than you are by a car therefore, guns are safer. Thank you topper.

webmoron is a racist.
I think he opened a box of kellogs and his prize was a gun.
It's 1,000 times too easy to get guns. 18,000 murders per year is the proof.

Topper, you can roast me for this but I love to throw around numbers too. 18,000 murders sounds great if you're against guns. Actually the numbers are more around 14,180 murders per year (in 2008) according to the latest accurate stats I could find. Some sites post the number to be a little higher but if you read closely you will find that included in thier number are "justifiable homocides" which seem to total around 1000 or a little under for the past few years. Fortunately the FBI site makes a distinction.

Breaking it down, 9,484 of the murders were by guns. If you are like me, this is still a huge number but there has been no research that has shown that eliminating guns would eliminate 9,484 murders in the US previously committed by guns...or anywhere else for that matter. To me the problem is more a matter of culture than the availability of guns.
