The Talmud is not the Jewish bible it is commentary on Torah, The Hebrew bible is called the Tanakh, an acronym derived from the names of the three divisions of the Hebrew Bible: Torah (Instruction, or Law, also called the Pentateuch), Neviʾim (Prophets), and Ketuvim (Writings).

That being said you are correct , fetus isn't a child receiving its Soul on it's first breath

I guess like all conservatives, they worship the past and abhor change. I find it amusing that several of the Reichwingers here constantly bleat that the left wants to impose slavery on everyone, or that taxes = slavery, and other garbage. Yet conservative women seem to WANT slavery, even ones who work outside the house. It reminds me of when the U.S. has gone into some other country, helped kick out the repressive regime, then is shocked to discover that the citizens were just fine with the way things were and don't WANT democracy or freedom.

Usually, when the US sticks its nose into somebody else's business, it's to kick out a communist regime that the locals saw as a savior from the fascist regime that preceded it.

As for longing for the past, I'm like that with so many things.

I wish I could have kept a lot of things that I loved which are gone forever,
but then again, I don't miss Jim Crow or the frightening polio epidemic and House Un-American Activities Committee from my elementary school days.

I wish I could have cherry picked the new things that I like without having to endure the new things that I hate.

There are some women raised to believe that is the only proper role for women.
There are others who just crave that role of being the child/spouse of a man, where he provides everything and makes all decisions, and she just gets taken care of and goes along, doing the role he gives her.

There are also women who, having been forced in to those roles, learn to accept it, as humans have a tendency to not want to feel like victims, and to make the best of their situations.

That would be common with a lot of Muslim women wearing the most restrictive dress, arguing other women should too. A small percent really desire it, but many others 'accept it' when they realize they have no choice regardless, and then argue others should too, as they do not want to feel like victims, understandably.

And yet the Republicans NEVER implement any large scale infrastructure projects and worse try to block all them, the very thing America was build upon coming out of the last World War. When you have leading infrastructure and ability to move goods, corporations come and expand and create jobs. When your infrastructure is shit and generations old, and you trains are running on civil war brakes, that pushes away domestic investment.

You want to see the shit hole Southern Republican states start to improve? Put in high speed rail connecting them to their more prosperous Democrat State run neighbours so the cheaper wage workforce from the shithole GOP States can commute easily to compete for the jobs in the much better Democrat run States. That is a win/win for conservatives at it would slightly lower wages and wealth in the Dem States while increasing wealth in the GOP shit holes.

But you will never see Republicans actually vote to do big infrastructure as the pay off is more long term and they would rather just suck all the money out of the economy today via tax cuts or let the corporations instead do giant stock buy backs (while not upgrading train brakes).
