People have a right to express themselves in any form they want, within the law. A 'show', a 'rally', a 'march' a documentary movie', etc, however you want to express yourself. That is the core of free speech.

it is FACT that Drag Shows are an expression of free speech. Speech is not limited to words. The way a person shows their art, their music, their acting, are all forms of expression and thus protected expressions of speech.

it is up to the individuals if they are expressing anything (speech) with their actions (acting, music, cartoon strip, show, play, movie, etc) and not up to anyone else.

A bunch of clansmen marching silently in full gear, is utilizing their right to free speech. They are expressing their message thru their choice to do those actions in a public way, and that is protected.
