Thanks, Jarod. As to the “banning drag shows on public grounds” with criminal felonies attached to the punishments in various states I have to reluctantly say, “You’ve probably got a point there.”

As to banning drag queen story hour or whatever they want to call it, since guns are already banned from public schools (and some other public places) there is precedent, using your reasoning.

And, I’m of the opinion that all limitations of a constitutional right that are in place or that certain people would put in place are not … constitutional. You correctly point out, whether you intended to or not, that both sides are often guilty of such.

Any restrictions that leftists want to place on gun ownership should also be placed on every other right. The left wants to eat it's cake and have it too.

It is my opinion, that when Constitutional rights and or Constitutional duties conflict we need a balancing act to come as close to constitutional as possible. Thus, when the duty to protect the people conflicts with the right to free speech or the right to bear arms a compromise is in order. A guy in a dress doing story hour without making it sexual is not harmful, in fact in my opinion it can be mind expanding beyond limitations on societal expectations and promote accepting of people who are different... while a sexual show presented to kids, even if its not cross dressing can be harmful. Gun ownership and freedom to own guns can be very beneficial to society, but there are types of guns and certain people who should not be free to own them because both are likely to be used for murder of innocents.

I believe in a balance on both issues. Absolutism is usually dangerous.
