Trump-Stormy Daniels settlement at heart of potential NY DA indictment didn't violate

And campaign finance violations. The same violations that most likely Trump will be indicted for.
Hillary got an $8K fine for listing 1 million she spent on opposition as a "legal expense". The FEC investigated Trump 130K hush money NDA payment and found it to be legal. If an expense has a personal purpose and a campaign purpose you don't need to list it. Trump would have made the payment anyway to prevent Melania from finding out.and to prevent damaging his brand name. So the contribution is legal.

Nope. It was a campaign expense that he covered up and lied about. Cohen did the job and got 3 years and about a million in fines. It is simple, Cohen did what trump wanted and it is illegal. Trump should in no way escape. It was his entire idea. He was the only one whom Cohen's actions could have helped.

I've never heard anyone mention retainer......I've heard he was billed for attorney fees and costs.......that's something I do weekly.....

If you never heard anyone mention it then you haven't been paying attention.

Executives of the Company also determined that the $420,000 would be paid to COHEN in monthly amounts of $35,000 over the course of 12 months, and that COHEN should send invoices for these payments.
[snip]
Throughout 2017, COHEN sent to one or more representatives of the Company monthly invoices, which stated, “Pursuant to the retainer agreement, kindly remit payment for services rendered for” the relevant month in 2017, and sought $35,000 per month. The Company accounted for these payments as legal expenses. In truth and in fact, there was no such retainer agreement, and the monthly invoices COHEN submitted were not in connection with any legal services he had provided in 2017.

So do you normally misrepresent the services you provide to clients on an invoice you present to them?
