No, in layman's terms, demand that people insure their dangerous weapons in case they are used to commit a crime. I suspect Kyle Rittenhouse would have been uninsurable. Same with most of these school shooters, because the weapon plus the demographics would make them high risk. Might make parents be a little more prudent about making their guns accessible. Don't like it? Tough shit. Do you think we should simply give everyone an AR-16 gratis? Sounds like a brilliant idea.

What good is that if the licensing process is like getting a driver's license? In the US, you can barely control a vehicle, not have a clue about what to do in driving other than a straight line, and pretty much guess your way through the multiple choice exam and end up with a license. If you make the same for guns it does nothing. The criminals won't care and their lack of a license won't matter to them. For the law abiding, the license is just an annoyance and cost to the same end.

On top of that, it will only take one attempt to use licensing and registration to confiscate in whole or part people's firearms to make the whole process turn the public into government enemies.

The government doesn't need to know what I have. Registration is the first step to confiscation.

How am I part of the problem? My guns are in a safe place.

Of course I care, I was a firearms instructor for over 20 years.

That's ludicrous. None of my guns have harmed anyone.
