The best way to stop illegal immigration is to stop providing what attracts them to the US: money. Pass Immigration Reform. Include arresting employers and renters who make money off of illegals.

The biggest deterrent for illegal immigration in the past 40 years was the Great Recession. Why? No money, no jobs, no additional illegals.

Additionally, most illegals came to the US legally and overstayed their visitor, student or work visa. Again, make the employers accountable. This happened with the airlines after 9/11 - there were illegal immigrants working as airline pilots. Once security was increased, that stopped.

The US needs immigration reform. Even GW Bush knew it and pushed for it but was shot down by his own party. Why? Too much money to be made with the status quo.

Here's the irony: despite all the whining about open borders, the Republicans don't want the laws to change. They know only the fucking morons think "the Wall" is more than a distraction. Sure, in adjoining border cities, it can work, but overall, it's useless since it's a single line of defense.

To stop illegal immigration, the US needs a defense in depth; namely, laws making it illegal to profit off of illegal immigrants or otherwise support their illegal stay in the US.

The problem is neither party in Congress wants the status quo to change. Mainly because of the money being made by a modern form of indentured servitude. The corporations are making massive profits and it's the American taxpayer who is paying the costs...at a time when Republicans keep wanting to cut taxes on corporations and the Democrats want to eliminate ICE and defund the police.

Immigration laws are already in place but Biden will not allow them to be enforced.

Four (4) million more illegals here since Biden took office.
