None of those are the same as the transgender issue. Someone who is gay doesn't "think" they are gay. People who are fat are fat. With trans people they merely think they are indifferent gender. They aren't actually that other gender. It's like people with anorexia, they think they are fat. Its detrimental to them to go along with their altered judgement just because they think they are fat. It's ridiculous

My point is that one reason there are more young people who identify as transgender than older adults is that many older people do not identify in those terms even if they basically behave that way. Many young people identify as transgender even if they have done nothing medically to change their gender, older people do not. Even some younger asexual teens call themselves trans.

I have not seen any evidence that supports that idea.

Male tennis player Renee Richards mainstreamed "trans" in the early 70's. Gender Dysphoria was added to the DSM list of mental illnesses in 1980.

Lol, it wasn’t the American Psychiatric Assoc. fault that 1200 psychiatrists thought he wasn’t fit to serve, as a matter of fact, after the survey, the Goldwater Rule was established, it seems they did the right thing.
