Fact: The banks were told to make the same loan policies available to poor black and hispanic families as they did to white families....they weren't FORCED to purposely make bad risk loans. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac made bad loans and then mixed those bad loans with the rest of their financial packages that they sold to other banks as good quality. This is fraud. NO one forced them to do such.

Fact: The Iraq invasion/occupation killed over 4,000 Americans, wounded or mutilated over 30,000 (the majority AFTER major hostilities concluded), killed HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of Iraqi civilians, devastated Iraqi infrastructure that is STILL woefully behind in rebuilding according to the GAO, poisoned good portions of the land with toxic DU shell dust, has set up a puppet gov't that was "elected" by a portion of the population that many didn't even know who they were voting for, and is tentively at peace so long as the bribe money to factions opposed to the current "gov't" remain placated. Oh, and it's still costing US citizens BILLIONS to maintain military and contractual interests in that country.

Fact: Under the Shrub, traditional allies condemned our actions, we lost stature as a force of fairness and righteousness...even Poland, part of the original Iraq coalition, publically stated that they were misled by the Shrub & company. Britain condemned the Blair administration as a Shrub lapdog (Downing Street memo) Obama's election has been internationally greated with a sigh of relief to 8 years of idiocy.

Get your willfully ignorant neocon parrot head out of Karl Rove's ass....no one is buying the neocon party line BS anymore. Reality trumps the Shrub legacy.

Libby, as usual you interject race into a conversation. This has nothing to do with race, but bad credit. Fannie and Freddie were forced by Bwarney Fwank, et al, to require lending banks to loan to bad credit, then buy it up. Sound banking policy established over decades was ignored, such as requiring 20% down payments, proof of employment, and of course, good credit history. People responded by overextending themselves and buying more home than they could afford, causing a housing boom. With rising costs folks then used these sub-prime loans to buy on speculation. When the loans started to go bad the bubble burst.

Again, race isn't the issue, and it was the Democrats who caused this. These are the facts, and they are undeniable.

With regards to the rest of your post, all you did was call political opinion fact: a debate failure and unworthy of a response.

Truth: The greed of bankers produced mortgages that never should have been issued. They were writing new, unsafe, mortgages rather than lending against equity homeowners had in their homes. The reason? Commissions and high mortgage fees!. No one forced them into producing creative and dangerous mortgage and insurance instruments resulting in even more risk. Frank did not take over the chairmanship until 2007, where were his gop counterparts the previous 12 years when they had Congress? No bills from them to fix the problem and maybe no incentive to control banks or pursue their Constitutional responsibilities.

Truth: The US during the dim cowboys' bush/Cheney watch was disrespected and hated as much as any country since Nazi Germany, and, possibly, Stalin's USSR. That is changing now.
