I am the real representation of a southern man. I appreciate my heritage. Including, the black people who made it so much richer. After all MLK is a southern man.

As I argued before, all good music came from the south. Jazz, Rock and Roll, R&B, hip hop, even punk rock are all southern creations or have their roots in southern music. Everything but rap, which we improved on with Outcast and other dirty south groups.

Fuck you Yankees and Westerners (Western people are not as judgmental, but for those that are). You all have recent and dirty memories of racism too and none of the visionaries.

I am proud of my black southern heritage.
 
MLK was also a Republican, and I'm very proud of that too. :pke:

Republicans in The South who resisted the Democrat's war against the black man make me proud as well. We're the reason why they lost the Civil War, and their war against Civil Rights. :)

1. Do you like Credence Clearwater Revival? They're a "southern band", yet are actually from California.

2. Florida isn't Southern. It is nearly completely devoid of Southern culture. It's actually a suburb of Northern cities.

Why should I be proud of my heritage? Slavery? Ignorance? Racism? Religion? Stupidity? There's nothing good about my heritage. It is right and just to be ashamed of it.

Ignorant fuck. Maybe your family were ignorant racists for generations and generations but don't lump everyone in with you. Plenty of white Southerners like my father and his family fought in the streets for civil rights and were called nigger-lovers for doing so. Your idiotic oversimplification ignores the countless contributions of white Southerners to the cause of civil rights. Many Southern white families, rich and poor, see it as our mission to watch over those who society victimizes in our lifetimes and to teach our children to do the same. Don't project your own self-loathing of your Southern ancestry onto the rest of us. Many are justifiably proud of the actions of our ancestors.

I don't know why you think I am not proud of my black southern heritage too? My family lineage has some black roots, as well as indian roots, and very little white european. My grandmother picked cotton for a black sharecropper during the depression, fed and raised my aunts, unlces, and father that way. I have no reason to be racist and I don't support or condone racism. Some ignorant people presume my moniker and avatar are 'racist' but they are not. I regret that some people are bigoted and prejudiced, and full of ignorance, but it will not change who I am or what I know.
 
Why anyone who claims to have black heritage would be proud of what the confederates stood for is about as logical as anything else Dixie has ever said (that is to say, not at all).
 
Honestly, the world would be much better off without the southeastern US. I hope for one day when this shit-land is reduced to a barren wasteland along with all of the fundamentalists and Republicans.

the south is holding america back. we would all be better off without it. also it is established fact that many african americans enjoyed being slaves.

Why would I care what my ancestors did? They were southerners. I don't inherit their crimes. You don't inherit anything your parents did. The south sucks, in general.

Watch that presentation on all the anti-science legislation being introduced in this country. It all originates from Alabama and Louisiana and the phyolgeny of the evolution of these bills all stem from those two states and it's migrating north (and failing all along the way).

The South is a huge burden to the rest of the country. They take more than they contribute nationally money wise, they elect idiots who go to DC and prevent us from making any progress on national science standards, global warming, energy, health care, etc.
