Establishing a debt ceiling after you have already incurred the bills is inane, America is one of the few counties to have one and it wasn’t always a part of the US, and was never politicalized till later

You control spending with the budget, not after the fact, which will be due in four months, meaning the same circus will start again

And now to return to the point of the topic thread, will the moderate coalition that McCarthy will have to assemble in the House to pass the debt deal stand a chance of realizing their potential and continue to work together as its own entity and forget having to appease the extremes of both parties?

No I don't believe it is. We have to stop the bleeding. The federal govt is a bloated pig. It does much more than it has any authority to do and we paymckr.stuff the federal govt should not be doing. This is freaking insanity.
