Let’s Smash the College Admissions Process

Please...do share...(You don't think parents have positive (or negative) influence on their children's education? Why am I not surprised?)
Yeah schools took a turn for the worse when mothers started working out of the home . They spent less time at PTA looking at the education of their kids. Less time volunteering in the schools. Now schools don't want parental input.

We have public and private schools.

If the private schools aren't tax supported, they can do whatever the hell they want.
They're not necessary if the public schools are doing their job.
They're just nice places if you are fortunate enough to afford them.

I belong to a private club.
If the club didn't want my money, the area has public golf courses all over the place.

Which has a better course.

Oh My GOD!

We have another major breakthrough discovery here!

Gomer came from a single mom too.

Schools are beginning to get more parental input
... whether they want it or not...lol... it's really encouraging to see parental involvement increasing for most of us though... and of course the kids are going to benefit tremendously...

Within days or weeks, the Supreme Court is going to render a decision on the future of affirmative action in higher ed. If things go as expected, conservatives will be cheering as these policies are struck down — and progressives will be wailing.

In 2017 research led by Raj Chetty found that students from families in the top 1 percent of earners were 77 times as likely to get admitted into the Ivy League than students from families making less than $30,000 a year.

Link is behind a pay wall.

Using racism to ostensibly get rid of racism is not only immoral but illogical that's why affirmative action needs to be done away with. As to admissions, schools should set the standards for the students they want in their school. Some people arent going to get in but that's an unfortunate reality of life. The majority of people in America haven't been to an ivy league school and lots of them do just fine.

You belong to the club because it has very nice amenities... am I right? That doesn't mean the public course is not doing its job for people who just want to play golf... we have public and private schools here in our tiny system the public schools are stellar... the private schools are tremendously expensive and the kids eat lunch in a dining room with full table settings everyday... the educational opportunities are the same...

Same here in Anchorage. There really is no need to send kids to a private school unless you have tons of money to piss away.
But go to New Orleans area where I grew up… sending your kids to a public school is downright child neglect.

What grade did you flunk out of?

So what's your point?

He doesn’t have one, usually doesn’t, he just copy and pastes shit off websites and posts them, he never can exchange on anything he offers, and if you watch carefully, you’ll notice he does the same coming from the opposite direction

Hey asshole. You will be banned from my threads. Sick of you goddam hate trolls.

You have to ban me, and a few others, most see threw the facade, that’s why the majority of your threads quickly turn to shit, the name calling, before they go anywhere

And thanks for proving my point
