There's quite a list.... you'll have to see both and then compare... or I guess you could Google it but you still might not understand...Then what are the disappointed about?

If you haven't seen it you wouldn't understand... it's disappointed not twisted, btw... but really no surprise...Very predictable...

You do not believe movies have been made to appeal to specific "protected" groups since the start of movies? Silly.
You haven't seen it... and I'm not sure if you've seen the original so what good would it do to tell you what changes additions deletions were disappointing?Tell me what is disappointing or is it just a feeling that you cant describe? (Seems twisted up, to me but Ill use your word)
Yes... the animated version is very popular...A classic... which is why so many were disappointed in the changes... and despite what everyone is saying no one really cares that Ariel is biracial... especially me...![]()
I assume that the latest iteration did not replace the original film, right?
We live in an age where digital files in the cloud
have replaced hard media like DVDs and Laserdiscs, even those horrid quality VHS tapes,
and I personally hate that. REALLY HATE THAT. VISCERALLY HATE THAT.
I WANT HARD COPIES ON MY SHELVES, GOD DAMN IT!!!!
But for whomever still has functioning playback equipment, I assume the animated original film is still around, no?
You are correct... the original lives on... I have hard copies of every Disney movie and other Classics as wellI assume that the latest iteration did not replace the original film, right?

Yep, the original is still around, and it's my favorite of the newer Disney animated movies. But there is no question that some things have changed, and the slight modifications to the lyrics in almost every case were designed to represent Ariel as an empowered female (which scares the SHIT out of the nutters) rather than a victim subject to the whims of her Prince Charming. For example, one of the songs had a line directed towards the Prince, telling him to go for it without any type of consent. So it was slightly changed. A verse was removed from a song that basically said to little girls everywhere that they didn't need their voice to land a man, just their looks. Not a great message for girls, so it was removed. And they turned Prince Eric into a more three dimensional character rather than an avatar for the knight in shining armor. Also, IMHO, a positive change. They are not losing their minds because of the lyric changes per se. They are losing their minds because a black actress is offensive to them. It's racist to the core. Plain and simple.
OMFG, they've destroyed the movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Give me a fucking break. I can watch the old version on Disney Plus any time I want to.
Funny thing is that the music in it leans heavily on black Caribbean music
It’s a natural for a black Ariel

Don't mess with the classics... especially the Disney classics.. just make a whole new movie... and leave the M&Ms and Minnie and Mickey etc alone...lol
I’ve seen the original several times.
Why are you so unwilling to share your “disappointments”?
It’s not like they erased the original, as you pointed out.
Because she hasn't seen the movie.
They did make a whole new movie! You are upset over it.
There's no point in having a discussion about what's different if you haven't seen the new one.... you can look up the differences... the changes the deletions the additions... if you like the ending in the original you'll hate the new one...I’ve seen the original several times.

So why are her panties in such a wad?
I'm not upset I'm disappointed.. I thought you said you didn't see it?
I saw the first not the second, what is disappointing to you?
