What is woke about the lil mermaid?

Lines, heat, price gouging, fake, fat people waddling in front of me. Not amusing.

I love it and I don’t mind fat people, what a terrible thing to say. I love the rides and the parades! When you go to places like that you should expect to pay high prices.

To each his own, Id rather snorkel a coral reef or see the Grand Canyon, or make friends with some Parisians and go out to a great dinner with them.

Nothing to do with race... (and she's biracial... not black... just to correct the record since people seem to be convinced that all the Uproar is because she's black...Its not...)https://www.vox.com/culture/2023/5/...23-songs-lyric-changes-poor-unfortunate-souls... this is an interesting article for those still questioning...

Again you speak as the ignorant lunch lady you are , I am bi racial and the Black community has been more accepting of bi racial children as one of their own .

I’ve done them all or will by this summer, the experience with my children was worth the lines and the price gouging.

I'm a Universal guy. I have a season pass, and when you stay at one of their hotels, you get free express passes for everyone in the room for the entire stay. It's literally cheaper to stay at a hotel than to show up and pay full fare for the express passes. We always stay at Portofino bay, which is by far the nicest of their properties. Express lets you cut the lines and avoid those hour long wait times which are cut to mere minutes with the pass.

Retirement lets me do all of that. I'm a diver. We're going to Cayman next month. Italy and Greece in August. We probably go to Universal about once a month.

Who woulda thunk anyone would get enraged by the color of mythical fairies and mermaids?

"Enraged" is a pejorative word used in situations like when one wants to exaggerate negative reactions to something they support. Done of course for the purpose of demonization of their opposition.

Rather than say "Who woulda thunk there'd be controversy over the color of an actress playing mythical fairies and mermaids?"... the pejorative "enraged" conjures up images of people turning purple with sputtering rage over something also mischaracterized as trivial.

Nobody whose expressing distaste over this is enraged and the issue is not trivial.

Certain groups of people are engaged in a power play in our society, by using guilt and shame tactics to advance their cause and bully the media into toting their water. IOW complaining and crying victim.

Many of us find that kind of disgusting.

And yes, I understand that the other side is pulling similar crap, as bad or worse.

Like much of the shenanigans of the right, I feel this is something that I need to speak out against too.

We enjoyed Universal, too, Six Flags, Knotts Berry, Elich’s and Schlitterbahn. We are an amusement park family.

I am also a coaster junkie. I went to Cedar Point once, I HAVE to go again. If you like coasters, it is a must.

Sea World is good too, and Busch Gardens is awesome.

WAHHHHHH, black actors are taking over...

How can an honest white actor make an easy million anymore. Wahhhhhhh!

The Grievance Party is so lucky to find a new grievance.

Funny thing is, about 1.5 years ago, on another forum, i made an Av and Sig bet with a guy who was complaining about all 'Woke Movies' being now over run by PoC or Women taking all the key roles.

We did our bet counts by looking at the top 100 movies of that year, and the lead actor and supporting cast was over all 80% white, and male.

White males absolutely dominate the Lead and Supporting actor hirers and yet it is white males crying about any change where a PoC or Woman is hired instead to appeal to a broadening audience.

It is always the same tears that idiot Nomad is saying above of 'EVERYTHING NEEDS TO CATER TO ME... ME... ME... ME'. He actually said up thread that business trying use 'demand' from new customer blocks to justify what they supply is wrong. Businesses should ignore growing demand in communities and keep everything the same.

You cannot make up how stupid and entitled these guys are.

You mean the ones grieving about not enough black actors getting lead movie roles?

Or the ones grieving about not being allowed to prance around in lingerie in front of children in night clubs?

Funny how most things work both ways, in'nit?

Somebody told me that they already made a movie with a brown Tinkerbell, and the world survived.

I agree that 'enraged' isn't quite the right word

Not really funny at all as what you are saying is generally bullshit.

Use any of these threads in this forum for example and show me anyone bitching about PoC not getting enough roles? I can show you a ton of white male crybabies crying that 'all roles should go to white males... why are PoC and women now getting these roles'.

So reality does not agree with you.
