Women use poison, knives and even guns. They use guns less. My group in my sociology class is doing our presentation on males vs females with violent crimes and only 55% of women use guns compared to men who use guns 65% of the time. The women who killed 18-24 only nine females were arrested for murder while 18-24 were 105 men who were. For forcible rape 18+ only 1% of women were arrested and with men 51% 18-24. Oh and this is all from the UCR if you're wondering of the last updated yr. You can find it at the FBI website.

We should try harder and arrest more women and also ban knives and poisons.

Unless you think it's much nicer to be poisoned, then shot. :palm:
 
There is a reason why it is considered more humane to hunt a deer with a rifle than with a bow. Weapons that are not as lethal as firearms are much more painful to be struck with.

Women don't use poison cause it's nicr than to be shot. They use what's available to them. Sometimes the women who murder have limited resources. Doy. You use what you got.

If you're a mother who is at home and raising children and you're in an abusive relationship your husband isn't going to give you much money to go out and buy a gun. And the stats speak for themselves. You can go to the FBI website and look at the UCR and see for yourself that women don't use guns as much as men. The reason's aren't there so go bitch to the FBI.
 
Women also are less likely to use lethal force in suicide attempts than men, which is why they have a lower success rate than their male counterparts. It has nothing to do with access.

What's your citations for that? Just curious. Even with robbery, where guns are used, women had less arrests the 18-24 range were 125 compared to men 18-24 who were 808. Even in gangs women are just like a man's side-kick and the man will bring the gun.

Plus there have been studies that show that when women go the suicide route, it's attention seeking and not really an attempt to complete the act.
But men on the other hand, just hate to leave a job unfinished.

That would count as an accessible object don't you think? Also if you're a woman and the man is stronger than you etc. you want to catch him at a weak point. Poison and knives you can do that more than with guns. A man can't fight back if you poison his food and the poison kicks in while he's sleeping or something. It will catch him off guard and you have a chance.

These are just Air Force statistics, but I believe it holds true outside of the military. After all, military women are more likely, I would hope, to consider firearms as a tool for an objective.

And its just suicide, of course. That said, I consider it telling.

I think it depends on how desperate the woman is. I haven't studied suicide really this term. It's basically homicide.

Well with the military the woman has a gun accessible and all. What would she do if she didn't? If she was your regular Jane? Would she cut, drown, poison etc? And I'm sure it's probably true too if not pretty close since the military is very diverse and all that with ages, race and class. All that basic stuff.

You seem to be ignoring the number of murders, committed by women, who waited unitl their man was sleeping or passed out.

Where theres a will, there's a way.

Well I did say with the poisoning it would help to kick it in when he was sleeping. And each situation and individual is different so... I'm just posting what the UCR says. Of course the UCR is only on reported crimes.
