How much prison time could Trump face? Past cases brought steep punishment for docume

Justice Department prosecutors in recent years have used the Espionage Act provision against a variety of defendants, including a West Virginia woman who retained an NSA document related to a foreign government’s military and political issues. Elizabeth Jo Shirley pleaded guilty in 2020 to a willful retention count and was sentenced to eight years in prison.

This month, a retired Air Force intelligence officer named Robert Birchum was sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to keeping classified files at his home, his overseas officer’s quarters and a storage pod in his driveway.

trump will do zero time. There will be a deal struck that trump will be ineligible for elected office and will pay a fine. There are two systems of justice in this country - one for the wealthy and well-connected and one for the rest of us. trump never wanted to be president in 2016 he was shocked he won. He's only running now to "play the victim" and claim a partisan attack for his doing nothing wrong. Look at how much $ he's raising each time he's indicted. When he wins the nomination, it'll get even worse, and we might see more right-wing attempts at violence, as well as dollars pouring into trump's legal defense fund.

There will be no justice as long as the trump cult exists.

I hope Biden is not this cowardly.

How much Prison time could Clinton, Bush, and Obama face?

A lot.
Zero. OTOH, what would they deserve?

If Trump pled guilty, gave a mea culpa and dropped out of sight like Clinton, Bush and Obama, I doubt this would go much further.

That’s hilarious

It's the truth. It's not like the trump DoJ where the AG was trump's servant, going after all trump's political enemies - with Biden the DoJ is an independent branch of the government. In the case of the trump investigation, it isn't even Garland investigating trump, it's an independent prosecutor, Jack Smith, who Garland doesn't even meet with.

You think the DoJ should function like the trump mafia DoJ where Barr was having nightly planning sessions with Durham. <-- that's not how it's supposed to work.

Where they went to Italy to investigate the Russia investigation and found a Trump crime which wasn’t investigated?

I know. Under trump, they were fine with Barr being trump's consigliere - they just assume Biden's working the same way. I mean, maybe Biden should tweet "trump's a criminal" like trump did constantly about Hillary and hold "lock him up" rallies. Geez - They fuckin' deserve it.

Trump deserves it, but any politician who lowers himself/herself into the gutter like Trump deserves to lose their election.

NONE. Trump is authorized to retain any document he wishes. Birchum and Elizabeth were not.
