Election turn out.
Election turnout has been fairly consistent at 60% for decades. How to change that?

Percentages remain low, "record turnout" or not.No the gap in GE is growing. Biden won by 7MM votes, with both Trump and Biden hitting record turnout.
Hillary won the popular vote by 3MM.

Hillary could have won by 20M and it wouldn't have made a difference if she lost the Electoral College count.
https://ballotpedia.org/Voter_turnout_in_United_States_elections
2020 66.0%
2016 59.2%
2012 58.0%
2008 61.6%
2004 60.1%
If the Dems keep taking an increasing share of the Popular vote it will make it increasingly hard to impossible for the electoral college vote to work out for the GOP.
Had Hillary won by 20MM that means she would have taken a huge chunk of votes from the GOP across many districts impacting their EV count.
IF. Agreed. IF pigs could fly, you and I could make a fortune selling pith helmets.![]()
Not necessarily.
It's an old joke. Kind of an age/culture check. Basically it ridicules "if" statements as being fantasy like pigs flying. Flying pigs would be dropping pig-sized shit, hence the need for helmets.I don't know what you mean by that.
You posited Hillary could win by 20MM but if the margin stayed the same...
...If the popular vote gap keeps growing (Hillary 3MM, and Biden 7MM) and with the demographic shift, young voters and women that is quite predictable, ... then the Electoral College WILL NOT save the republi'cans' in the future.
That is simple logic and true as the republi'cans' are not adding 'new voters' to keep the closing the margin if the Dems keep getting ever more in the popular vote.
Thanks Lil Ron Ron. Just so you know, you can stop now, you have no chance to EVER be President.
I'm personally already seeing the impact of this; the company I hired to do my driveway pavers cancelled the contract because they lost almost their entire labor force. A favorite restaurant of ours was closed Sunday evening, they have had to reduce hours because of their labor shortage. Once this law goes into effect, hotels, restaurants, service companies, roofers, etc will experience a huge loss of labor. All so DeSantis can maintain his dream of being the next white supremacist President.
"A new Florida law cracking down on undocumented immigrants, signed last month by far-right Gov. Ron DeSantis and set to take effect on July 1, has pushed thousands of workers to flee the state.
Now even some capitalists who otherwise support DeSantis and the state's GOP-controlled House and Senate are beginning to speak out about how the law is likely to hurt their bottom lines."

Yup, my wife’s business let a few people go and canceled several projects due to this. The employee she let go now are living off the taxpayers.

She could win 100% of the vote in, for example, California, but that wouldn't change the electoral count. Why? Because the popular vote doesn't count, EC votes count.
Agreed the EC votes count.
Which is why the Republicans have been worried this entire century as proved by their efforts to disenfranchise American voters through various tricks and legal maneuvers.
Earl, I feel sorry for you! You are such a lost individual in the world!
You seem to be on the wrong side of every issue- some are not even real issues- JUST SOMETHING MADE UP BY A RETARD LIKE YOU!!
You go down every rabbit hole in the book!
I provided the link to show you that is exactly what is says.
.
Long term, yes. Short term, iundocumented workers are contributing billions of dollars to the Florida economy
I'm not sure, but think you might be misunderstanding how the Electoral College system works.Right but the math is not there for Dems to keep winning the popular vote by an increasingly bigger number without taking votes out of Red States.
That is why anyone who studies elections states the current tread is doom for the GOP if they keep bleeding bigger popular vote numbers to the Dems. It means Dems are getting more and more in Red States which WILL impact the Electoral College count.
The Republiclowns are on a sinking ship, and they are making their last ditch effort to save it now, through election rigging on the front end (preventing people from voting and gerrymandering) and election theft on the back end (not counting votes, throwing out electors and substituting their own), and the SC could have given them a huge boost, with a win on the Independant Legislature theory case, but did not and instead pretty much ensured Democracy will be even more protected than ever.

If the Republican Party is losing votes it's because more and more people like anti-American, racist fuckwits and pedophiles in COngress.
Long term, yes. Short term, iundocumented workers are contributing billions of dollars to the Florida economy, DeSantis is driving them en masse out of the state. Do you honestly believe you are not partonizing businesses that employ undocumented workers? They dominate a number of business sectors. Those sectors, especially hospitality, are going to be crippling to many businesses and cost the state billions of dollars. How about you address that instead of posting your bumper sticker response. In your own words. See if you can get up to two sentence responses.
why?.....unemployment in Florida is at a low.....
