Twitter from Daily Kos: Healthcare Reform is Dead!

"Insurance companies win, time to kill this monstrosity in the Senate."

This was the tweet just hours ago from (of all places) Daily Kos!

Looks like HCR will die a slow painful death... Awwwwwwww!

Thanks for reminding me Beefhead....

Those of you who have been calling and writing your Congressmen about this, please don't think the Daily Kos twitter is official confirmation this bill is dead! Keep up your calls and emails, until we hear from a grim ashen-faced Harry Reid, vowing to bring this back up again down the road... THEN we can celebrate a victory! Again, the Daily Kos twitter can not be taken as a legitimate source of news and information, and I only presented it because it was of relative interest, coming from the enemy camp.

I don't look at Dailt Kos or Twitter, ever. So an honest aside, what is your aim here in this thread?

I don't look at them either. Someone said this was posted, so I checked it out, and sure enough, it is. My aim? Nothing in particular really, I just thought it was interesting, considering how all we've heard 24/7 out of liberal democrats, is how this thing is GOING to pass, it's INEVITABLE, and we should all just pipe down and get used to the idea of it.... doesn't sound like the folks at Daily Kos are so sure of that now.... just an interesting development. I also thought, maybe some pinhead who keeps up with what Harry and Nancy are doing, could possibly shed some light on why Daily Kos sounds so 'terminal' about it... Did Lieberman's comments over the weekend have something to do with it?

The only way the Healthcare issue will be dead is if we all die.

I am dying to ask a question about health care reform, and I guess this is as good a thread as any to do it... so here goes...

We keep hearing from the left, that healthcare is a "right" ....I don't know that I accept the fact that we were endowed by our Creator with the right to never be sick, but just for the sake of argument, I am willing to give the benefit of doubt on this... it's a right! So, when did it become incumbent upon government to facilitate our every right? When is government going to start subsidizing my guns and ammo? I have the right to bear arms, shouldn't the government provide me with arms if I can't afford them? Shouldn't government be charged with ensuring there is a church in every town? We have the right to worship, but shouldn't the government provide the place of worship for us?

Becaue it is a matter of life and death. If you can't understand that you are heartless.

Yeah, and that won't be a problem when the government is able to kill off the undesirables like you, people who don't contribute to society and such... that will take care of all the really bad sick people, and we should be able to maintain some basic care for the healthy ones. Yes, you are right, is is heartless of me to want people to live in that condition, they are much better off dead.

Reasonable access to healthcare should absolutely be considered a right in this country. This is one of the problems with the debate. You have the Dittoheads like Dixie claiming that if its a right, then the government is taking it over and socializing it, and you have the idiots on the left saying that it should be taken over, but thats not what we're talking about. This country's healthcare is a mess for the money we dump into it, and anyone who thinks that we have the best healthcare in the world isn't even worth talking to.

We need to have better accessibility to healthcare, and if we have to change some laws and spend some money then lets talk about that rather than creating stupid straw men.

But lets talk about reality here.

The reality is, socialized medicine will do nothing to address cost or availability, but it will put government right smack dab in your doctor's office. Forget about the government in your womb, women... they are about to run your entire health care! That's the reality.

Like maybe... free health care if you are poor? *coughMEDICAID*
Like maybe... free health care if you are old? *coughMEDICARE*
Like maybe... free drugs if you are old? *coughPILLBILL*
Like maybe... Free Clinics in Every City? *coughSTATEHEALTHDEPT*
Like maybe... Free health care if you're a vet? *coughVA*
Like maybe... guaranteed emergency care? *coughINDIGENTCARELAWS*

Yes... I see what you mean!

Good, you do that...

Fuck, nevermind, I'm on the West Coast!!

BTW - its secede, not succeed. Succeeding has nothing to do with it (ask the South for details).
