These theories have fewer regulations (restraints) on businesses and individuals, accompanied with lower taxes. Right-of-left believe in more freedom, especially energy.

President Trump's lower tax rates yielded low inflation, a record low poverty rate and rapidly rising real wages, especially for those at the bottom. Sadly, most journalists and other democrats reflexively opposed these successful policies and sought to destroy Trump every day no matter how much they had to lie (remember the Russian hoax).

Real medium household increased by $4,400 in 2019, reaching an all-time record high of $68,700. This represents a 6.8 percent one-year increase, which is the largest one-year increase in median income on record. Since 2016, real medium household income has increased by 9.7 percent (after adjusting for a Census Survey redesign in 2017).

Income gains in 2019 were largest for minority groups. Real medium income grew by 7.9 percent for black Americans, 7.1 percent for Hispanic Americans, and 10.6 percent for Asian Americans. These one-year increases were all record highs, and the new income levels reached in 2019 were all record highs, as well.

The rise in income was driven by an increase in the number of workers, especially women. There were 2.2 million more people working at some point in 2019 compared with 2018.

Poverty hits record low after largest decrease in over 50 years.

The official poverty rate fell to an all-time record low of 10.5 percent in 2019. Over 4 million people were lifted out of poverty between 2018 and 2019 for a 1.3 percentage point decrease. This was the largest reduction in poverty in over 50 years.

Socialism and big Democrat run government polices are not the best way to make the economy thrive for all Americans; it didn't work for the Soviet people under Joseph Stalin, or the German people under the Nationalist Socialist German Workers (Nazi) party. Capitalism and a thriving private sector yields the most prosperity for the greatest amount of people.

Trump did nothing economically except inherit a vibrant and growing economy from Obama who had to fix Bush's economic disaster. Trump's tax cut, which came a year and a half after he was crowned king of America just exacerbated the wealth gap and added another 8 trillion to the debt. Slashing regulations is just removing the small bit of power that people have against corporate abuse.
Biden has had to fix another Repub economic mess and he has accomplished a lot.
Putin's war created worldwide inflation. Biden has managed to drop ours below the levels of other industrialized nations. He has added an enormous number of jobs. He has done a good job on the economy and is rebuilding the infrastructure at the same time.

The architect of supply side economics, David Stockman, considers the policy to be disastrous and a complete failure. But hey, let's do it again!!!

Trump was one of the only presidents who left office with fewer people employed than when he took office.

All economics is trickle down.

Depends on how you define 'trickle down'. The common usage is shorthand for supply side tax policy. It does not work. The empirical evidence is overwhelming. I really don't understand why the GOP (and I'm talking about the REAL GOP, not this twisted cult of personality version) still believes in supply side. It has failed every single time it's been tried. Most recently by Trump.

However government chooses to redistribute income (food stamps, Medicaid, etc.) must first come from those with higher income and it trickles down to those with lower income.

Correct in part. However, the share of taxes paid by various income levels is dictated by tax policy, and supply side tax policy advocates shifting the burden to lower income levels in the belief that higher income individuals are more likely to efficiently use dollars that would have been otherwise taxed. The monstrous flaw in that theory is the belief that spending by upper income individuals will lead to more disposable income for lower incomes. It does not. This has been proven, and continues to be proven every single time a tax cut targets the rich. See: Trump Tax Cuts. Businesses didn't create jobs with those breaks. They bought back their stock. That tax cut was gift wrapped by Trump for the richest corporations.

If not the tax cut something caused a record high number of jobs (160 million), 3.5% unemployment, and an increase in middle-class income. During the pandemic Americans received tax credits and stimulus checks. That money had to come from those who pay more taxes (plus borrowing).

The reopening of the economy caused the huge job increase. Jobs actually created (eg., new) amount to less than half-a-million. The 3.5% unemployment is mostly due to people having elected not to work, and that can be seen in the record low labor utilization (or employment) rate. Middle class income on the whole has fallen. The increase in wages is far less than the rate of inflation meaning people actually have less income.

Biden is presiding over the worst economy in over half a century. It is one of the major reasons he polls terribly on that issue.

When it comes to the economy Biden is now polling worse than Jimmy Carter, and that's hard to do. His poll numbers are putting him in Herbert Hoover territory...

We were talking about the Trump tax cut and I was talking about Trump's presidency. The economy was very good until the pandemic and then he left office with fewer jobs than when he started. He also spend far too much on stimulus, PPP, and other spending.

My main point was simply that any government program trying to get money to lower income will be trickle down from those who pay the taxes.
