Well, noise is useful in some cases.
Take your average Harley Dude. The main reason why he selected a Harley, is because no other Twin Cylinder motorcycle has that unique patented loping sound.
And one of the reasons why Motorcycles are allowed to operate on the streets with such loud exhausts, is because the DOT believes that they are safer to ride with all of that noise!
When you hear a Harley coming up out of your blind spot to pass you on buy, it alarms you that it is there, and prevents people from just changing lanes without looking, only in this case, hearing the rider approach you to accomplish the same thing essentially!

But fun to drive
Yep. And it demands attention wherever it goes. Try that with a Tesla![]()
I loved mine of course mine wasn't real it was a kit but it had a 429CJ.
Mine is a replica, built in the USA with a period correct 427 side oiler and toploader 4-speed.

40 mpg + if you don't get your foot into it, and it passes modern emissions if you tune the carburetors correctly...
And not for the better...
My buddy showed me that last year in his Tesla SUV. I was amazed. There's a noticeable difference in the acceleration of an EV and an ICE car. You can feel it.
The instant you exert any pressure on the accelerator of an EV, the car responds instantly with no lag. The torque is instant. And the G forces are real.
Go for it! I've already had that debate more than once, and you'll lose it too. Neither got any massive subsidies to sell their products like EV's have. Neither get huge tax breaks either. Instead, most of what you call "subsidies" were things the government wanted done, like research on special fuels for military use, and the like rather than just handouts and bribes like the EV industry is getting.

All? No. Mostly, yes. EV's are not popular. There is a thin segment of the market that wants one. Norway had to push massive subsidies and bribes on their populace to get to something like 80% EV's there. Now, ferry companies won't take the vehicles aboard because of the fire risk. So, Norwegians would have a really hard time taking their EV car to the mainland of Europe if they wanted to.
Norway also subsidizes it OIl and Gas industry. MOreso historically and in significant amounts.
This is a worldwide thing that you seem unaware of...

Governments Spent Record $1 Trillion Last Year Subsidizing Fossil Fuels

I guess you've never seen or heard a Ducati...
The things terry is unaware of would fill the Grand Canyon.
it is the same version of the complaint on so many issues.
Here the argument by terry is 'i am ok with decades and decades of past and current subsidies paid to oil and gas and ICE manufacturers for 'REASONS'. Those can continue..."
But 'i am offended and think it is wrong for any NEW groups to get any subsidies, such as EV's. Those must be stopped as subsidies are wrong'.
It parallels the woke Hollywood discussions. Whites (males) got pretty near exclusively 100% of the woke pandering (and that is fine as they were the paying audience) and now a small percent of that woke pandering is given to PoC and women and the white (men) are losing their mind.
They have been so spoiled by getting it all that the very idea of people or other industries being cut in for even a small share of anything is offensive to them.
