I'm sure someone will post a quote from Hillary or Gore - but both candidates conceded their losses. And neither came close to a fraction of the constant drumbeat we have heard from the deniers on the right since 2020.

Just to remind everyone: the Big Lie started because a narcissist who literally cannot accept losing - in any area of life - refused, not surprisingly, to accept his loss, and told everyone the election was rigged. He also said there was "massive fraud" in 2016, only because he lost the popular vote. He also called 2012 a sham.

And for anyone who believes there was a massive conspiracy: there would have to have been operatives and people in the know in at least 6 states, dozens of counties, and hundreds of precincts. I believe it was Ben Franklin who said that 3 people can keep a secret - if 2 of them are dead.

where is your proof that they have done more damage than Biden?........or the election officials in a dozen blue cities that decided to employ unconstitutional election prodedures in the 2020 election......it didn't require a conspiracy......all it required was opportunity......unsupervised drop boxes and ballot harvesting.......all you needed was 45,000 votes.......as has been said......"that's all we need......go find them"
 
I disagree as to what has harmed America the most.

I believe the framers of the Constitution set American down the wrong path from the outset.
I suspect, or at least hope, that their intentions were good.
I know that their execution was atrocious.

While arguable as to what causes the most harm, historians will speak to this age of disinformation by the republi'cans' along with their goal to destroy citizen confidence in every institution of govt (FBI, DOJ, Postal Service, IRS, etc, etc, etc) as one of the most long term harmful to America as a whole.


the entire republi'can' platform is to weaponize lies and conspiracy theories to undermine everything as they believe that they have no way to win elections legitimately any more and thus they need to tear the whole of America down and try to remake it under their authoritarian boot. And that requires, as Trump found out to his dismay, damaging and dismantling the government institutions who will follow the law and stop fascists from achieving authoritarian rule.


It is Step 1 in the Authoritarian play book. First you must destroy citizen trust in gov't, and then you can seek to overthrow it. Trump moved to quick the last time.
 
Election deniers are striking at the foundation of trust in the American system. If you do not believe in our election system, which has been proven to be extremely fair over and over, then what do you believe? You believe in people who are lying to you and want Trump as the despot of America. Trump is a disgusting low-level jerk, but you guys are the problem. When Trump is hauled off to jail and fades away, your distrust in America will linger.
The weird part is you guys were America Right or Wrong types. You talked about patriotism like it was axiomatic. We love America. Except you did not really. You were seeking a person to end it all. Trump is that person. Thank god he is a serial criminal and will not get away with it. But the next one may be smarter. Trump showed America can be overthrown from the inside.
