Oh, and the guy that replaced that prosecutor in Ukraine was a real piece of work. Yuriy Lutsenko, a violent drunkard, arrested in the Frankfurt airport for attacking German police, among other things, also had been previously removed from government office, charged with forgery and corruption including embezzlement, and tossed in prison in Ukraine. After serving about four months in prison, the President of Ukraine pardoned him. About 6 months later he was hospitalized in Ukraine after riot police beat him for involvement in a violent protest where he attacked the police...

Interestingly Lutsenko isn't a lawyer and doesn't have a law degree. To allow him to serve as Shokin's replacement, the Ukrainian parliament had to pass a change to existing laws allowing someone without a law degree to serve as a prosecutor.
