Slavery was horrific

Who on this thread suggested that we shouldn't teach all of the history of slavery?

Why do you think that is what this thread is about?

You did by suggesting my initial post was wrong or inaccurate when EVERYONE here KNOWS it is not. Please point out what is inaccurate in my initial post.

Where did I suggest that?

I didn't. It's irrelevant. And you just admitted that you're not familiar w/ what's happening in FL.

There is not one black in America that would swap lives with this guy in Africa today

If it would wipe out the history of slavery in America...never happened

Top of what list? Those who get to go to the work camps, and those who get to confiscate their stuff? Maybe you should return to explaining to us how great slavery really was. You failed with this distraction.

So please, tell us exactly what it was like.

You know, from your first hand experience and eyewitness memory of it.

Please, go ahead.

Take all the time you need.

And be as detailed as possible.

Use the first names of slaves you personally knew and observed in their daily lives.

But its not irrelevant. Your own thread title is simply...." Slavery was horrific" All through this thread I have agreed that it was in fact Horrific,...including in my initial post. THINK!

BINGO

There is not one person alive today that had a fucking this to do with slavery...no one owes the blacks of today a goddamn thing

So shut the fuck up about it

Are we allowed to call anything in history horrible, or condemn anything?

Because, ya know - none of us were there for any of it.

Of course. I agree,....slavery was and IS horrible. Its going on right now in Africa and other places. Should we send in the 101st "Screaming Eagles " to put it to em and kick some ass? Are not African lives as important as Ukrainian lives? All about the cause of freedom right?

Absolutely.

But one should try to take care not to sound more knowledgeable of it than they are.

Like war for example.

Awful, horrible thing. But out of it has come unintended benefits. New technology, bonds formed between former adversaries, trade improvements, etc, etc.

So to get offended take umbrage over the suggestion that some slaves came out of it with marketable skills, is narrow-minded and short-sighted.

And not all African slaves in America were abused. History also says that there were benevolent slave owners who treated their slaves like friends.

The assumption seems to be that to suggest that idea is tantamount to excusing and glorifying slavery.

It's not. It's just a statement of historical fact.

Like saying Hitler was kind to animals and built good highways.

JPP may be one of the few places where you can't simply condemn slavery without spirited debate.

Well, JPP & now Florida.

Not with me,....I condemned it right away. For a pittance of what we spend on Ukraine in a month we can go into parts of Africa and shut down the slave trade in short order. Lightweights.

Some people in wars actually like it.

They crave it even so you can't say it's horrible for everyone.

That is you projecting your views on everyone else.

We can't shut down the child sex slave trade from Mexico yet you expect us to go into Africa and shut theirs down?

lol

You clearly misunderstood his post. He's NOT saying what you think he is. Re read.

You really think lazy ass Europeans trumped though the jungle chasing down black people?

Of course not, they picked them up on the beach, paid some money or trade and went on their way.

I think that we get lied to constantly....a lot of stuff we are sure happened did not happen....at least not like we have been told.

Most of what happened the Modern Morons have no idea about.

SAD
