Democrats are worried about a potential drop next year in turnout among Black voters, the party’s most loyal constituency, who played a consequential role in delivering the White House to President Biden in 2020 and will be crucial in his bid for reelection.

Their concern stems from a 10 percentage-point decline in Black voter turnout in last year’s midterms compared with 2018, a bigger drop than among any other racial or ethnic group, according to a Washington Post analysis of the Census Bureau’s turnout survey. Such warning signals were initially papered over by other Democratic successes in 2022: The party picked up a U.S. Senate seat in Pennsylvania, Sen. Raphael G. Warnock won reelection in Georgia and anticipated losses in the House were minimal.

But in key states like Georgia, the center of Democrats’ plans to mobilize Black voters in large margins for Biden in 2024, turnout in last year’s midterms was much lower among younger and male Black voters, according to internal party analysis.

Nope. The crazies like you are fired up. But there are Americans who care about the law. Trump is not one of them. To win, you have to expand your base. The people who care about the law and the continuation of the American experiment are not going to skip the election. Those who care about women's choice are very active voters. The voters who care about the environment and KNOW that climate change is real, will vote. They care about the future their children and grandchildren will live in. Trump has a shrinking base and no way to grow it. He will be worse about taking over the country when he gets spanked again.

The numbers are the numbers. Regardless, it's still about a year to the conventions and even longer to the national election. A lot can happen in that time. Ask Howard Dean in 2004, Hillary in 2008, and Ted Cruz in 2016. LOL

Black people, vinny, make up 13.6% of our population.

With the recent exception of Georgia, southern black people don't bring jack shit in electoral votes to my Democratic Party.

What they can and do accomplish, being the only Democrats in the Deep South, is fuck up the Democratic Nomination process.
That's how we got Joe instead of Bernie, a TRUE progressive.

Northern state African Americans have the balls to vote for real progressives,
but Jim Clyburn and the black southern church ladies do not.

People should vote even if they know they are in the minority. Election math sends a message.

If 10 voters are eligible for an election but only 6 actually vote, the 6 votes will be "100%" of the voters. If 5 of them voted for Trump and 1 for Biden, then it would be 83%+ voting for Trump. If 8 voted, again with 5 voting for Trump, then Trump would still win but the percentage would be 62%+ for Trump. The more even the vote, the less power for the winners.

Remember when GW Bush declared 51% was a "mandate from the people"? All the smart people knew he was full of shit...and it's mostly the smart people with the money.

My advice to all Americans is to VOTE, even if in the minority. Skew the numbers. LOL

Look at the polls. There is no chance. 79% of Republicans think that the party needs to back Trump. They don't care what he does, they have never cared. As long as he 'owns the libs', he is their guy. And now it's obvious that DeSantis is not an alternative. It's done. Fait accompli.

87% of 13.6 is about 11% of the Democratic vote. In an election where both Hillary (2016) and Trump (2020) lost by small percentages in key states, every vote counts. There's also the factor of "sending a message" to the winners by voting for the challenger: "We don't like you". LOL
