I agree but Trump can’t be compared to other defendants tried to juries. It will be a challenge to even get a jury not in fear of their lives at the idea of rendering a guilty verdict.

In this case, I'm sure his lawyers told him that there is evidence from numerous witnesses that trump knew he lost. That makes many of the charges stick.

So...this might be an attempt to prove that he believed his delusions?

Will not hinge on that. Biden is the legally certified President. It's not a defense that actions taken in violation of criminal statutes to undo that certification are not criminal because you believed the certification was mistaken.

I think the case will hinge on whether a jury can be found that will have the courage to convict him.

If I kill my wife because I'm under the delusion she's hired someone to kill me first it's still a crime.

Whether or not Trump believed he won didn't give him the right to commit various crimes in an attempt to remain in office.

I believe his knowledge or lack of knowledge re. who won the election only applies to charges related to trump inciting a riot. At least, that's his defense re. same.

The 2020 election in Georgia was not stolen.

For nearly three years now, anyone with evidence of fraud has failed to come forward - under oath - and prove anything in a court of law. Our elections in Georgia are secure, accessible, and fair and will continue to be as long as I am governor.

The future of our country is at stake in 2024 and that must be our focus.
