As for how to declassify a document there is no law on that, only policy which Trump, as president, is ultimately in charge of writing by being the head of the federal agencies. If he wants to declassify them with a Vulcan mind meld he can, legally, Biden on the other hand can't declassify shit as VP.

So again, the charges related to the documents are going to go by the wayside in a court of law.

The only thing Trump really has to worry about are the video tapes in relation to the documents.

Depending on the credibility of the witnesses and what they say during testimony it's probably about a 50-50 chance for Trump.

They were documents in his office, not "random" documents. But you're avoiding the issue, the only thing you can do, I suppose, when defending Trump, who isn't in trouble for taking classified documents.

He's not being charged with taking them, if they did that then they would have to charge Biden also.

Trump is being charged for retaining them.

The question here, which is where Smith's case is shaky is whether or not they were classified.

We do know that Trump has been obsessed with this issue since he lost so I highly doubt he has been idle during the last three years, who knows what he might have uncovered in that time. He certainly has the money to hire enough people to dig into things.
